I got hassled yesterday by the police for taking a photo in the subway. Ever since 9/11 you need a permit to be able to take photos in subways and airports, and probably a bunch of other places I am not aware of (in Australia). The police were actually pretty reasonable, but they seemed to be stuck on the point that I should be more aware of peoples perception of me taking photos in a subway. Ok, I was taking a photo outside the mens' toilets looking in, still, I don't see why it matters, peoples perceptions of me are the last thing I worry about when Im out and shooting.
